Behind The Lens

Location

Windsor Connecticut , USA

Time

Around noon. It was a partially cloudy day.

Lighting

No special lighting was used. It was shot with natural light.

Equipment

Nikon D7100 , Tamron 150-600mm

Inspiration

I am a bird lover and I photography is my serious hobby. I heard loud sounds of wood digging on a Saturday morning around my friends home and I knew it was a woodpecker for sure. When I looked out , I saw this beautiful , agile and shy bird. I can say that because I tried to follow it with my camera without any luck. So I decided to crate a hideout in my friends patio where this guy was a regular visitor. I was lucky to capture few good images.

Editing

I don't remember if I did any post processing for this.

In my camera bag

I use Nikon gear. I have D7100 and D500 , 80-200 F2.8 and 150-600 mm Tamron

Feedback

Understanding your subject and it's behaviors and patience are the most important things especially for capturing beautiful images of birds and animals in the wild, rest all are just technicalities and skills.
