Behind The Lens

Location

Taken close to the Ottawa river in Gatineau, Quebec.

Time

Getting out of bed early in the morning on the weekends is sometimes quite a challenge, but is definitely the best possible time for these types of encounters with semi-urban wildlife.

Lighting

I was lucky enough have a lovely sunrise and strong backlight to give everything an ethereal feel, a feeling of freshness.

Equipment

Canon 60D and my trusty 70-200F4L.

Inspiration

I am inspired by many genres of photography but I am avid animal / nature photographer and love to be out in nature.

Editing

Just general post processing in lightroom and photoshop, removal of any distractions and tweaking the color just a bit, sharpening.

In my camera bag

Lots of stuff depending on the genre and location.

Feedback

get out there early, just after sunrise along riverbanks and streams and sit quietly, waiting for the scene to come to you. Silence and patience are golden...
