Behind The Lens

Location

This one was shot in a small town at Fernland Historical Park and Museum in Montgomery, Texas. Some friends and I met for lunch at Ransom's steakhouse, which adjoins the property and they mentioned the museum. One look and I fell in love! It had several historical building, such as an old church house and school in one area. Then in another area there was a creek with beautiful foliage and a bridge. It is an amazing place!

Time

This was taken towards the early part of my 7 hour photoshoot; which would have made it around 4:00 in the afternoon. Being this was taken mid March it wasn't 100... yet.

Lighting

The sun had already began to sink, so the shrubs and plants blocked the harsh sun making the lighting perfect.

Equipment

Canon Rebel T3i with 55m lens - that's it!

Inspiration

I saw the horse post and knew I wanted a picture of her on it somehow due to the beautiful creek in the background. We took a couple of different poses, but this was the only one that really turned out the best.

Editing

Being so new to photography I didn't have Photoshop and wouldn't know what to do with it if I had it, so there was no post-processing on these. Not to mention, being my first photoshoot, I made the rookie mistake of shooting in a low resolution setting.

In my camera bag

Being so new to photography all I have currently is the Canon Rebel T3i; 55mm & 85mm lenses.

Feedback

Aside from having a beautiful model and fabulous location, I'd have to say don't be afraid to try something new. New poses, new areas. Most importantly, have fun!
