Behind The Lens
Location
This is the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland. It was taken from about 8,000 ft at one of the outposts on the way up to another mountain.Time
I took this picture at the end of August in 2014 in the morning around 11am.Lighting
I wanted to capture the dramatic clouds on the face of the mountain so I waited for the sun to fully light up the clouds. Any other way there would've been too much shadow in the clouds.Equipment
Nikon D7000Inspiration
The mountain was just majestic and very calming. I wanted to capture how I saw it and also how it felt to me. There was an amazing sense of calm when I looked at the scene.Editing
I didn't do much with this one since the lighting was so great when I took the picture. I only did the profile correction for the lens.In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D7000, the kit lens and a 35mm f1.8 for portraits. I also carry a Metz 48 external flash for just fill lighting in portraits.Feedback
Try to capture it as many different ways as possible. I would make sure you're on a higher f stop to account for the sunlight and also to get a landscape focus.
