Behind The Lens

Location

I took a boat ride from the dock at Key West, Florida. I saw wonderful transitions from blue skies, to red. I was actually shooting the Sunset, when we passed this boat and I thought it would make a lovely composition to have the boat in the shot. I got another amazing shot of the Sunset... Imagine a ZOOMED in version of the Sunset in the background....

Time

Late afternoon

Lighting

Use proper camera settings for best light balance

Equipment

Canon D 70 with 132mm f 2.8 lens

Inspiration

The Sunset

Editing

increased sharpness for printing on metallic paper, poster size... Used Adobe Lightroom 4

In my camera bag

Camera body with flash and 132mm zoom lens

Feedback

I usually angle the camera UP a few degrees to get more drama from the sky. However, in this shot it was straight on, since I was focusing on the Sunset. Use camera leveling lines to keep camera level to the horizon.
