I was working on a photographic art project in Houston concerning the subject of Urban Dislocation. While walking around the city looking for ways to broach the subject, I came across shadows of people, buildings and objects that seemed to visually exemplify the sense of alienation that is common to the homeless people and numerous anonymous workers who inhabit the city. This simple, quiet shadow image of a solitary woman dragging her bag as she walked along an empty, stark stone street echoed loneliness.
