Location
Down by my local beach, the jeti itself is over a mile long and was used in the war and when I looked down it I just knew it would make a good shot.Time
It was about midday, we were walking the dog at the time.Lighting
I took it daylight, I do believe it was an overcast day and my main objective was to capture the detail in the concert.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 60d with a 24-105 f4 L lens at f4 and it was at 35mm. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
Well I had seen the jeti for ages and didn't think anything of it until one day we decide to walk out to the end of it when the tide was out. So as we walked out I climbed on top of it to see if there was good composition there, but there wasn't, and as I jumped down I landed underneath it and I look up and there it was, I knew straight away this was a great shot.Editing
I adjusted the contrast, shadows, clarity and just other little bits to get the exposure just right. I finally did a creative crop vertically to make it less distracting and take your eye right down the middleIn my camera bag
Well to be honest I don't take a bag I just use my 24-105, it covers a great range so I don't need anything else. If I am going for a day out I will an extra battery and sd card in my pocket but that's all. And that's why I love the 24-105Feedback
Be prepared for the tide coming in and always be aware of your surroundings. Shoot RAW and try and keep the camera as parallel to ground as possible because there will be less distortion. Most importantly just keep your eyes open and look up.
