Behind The Lens

Location

the image was taken from my front garden in Largs Bay Adelaide, South Australia.

Time

it was taken at sunset

Lighting

i only shoot using natural light.

Equipment

Nikon D700. hand held

Inspiration

Watching colours change so dramatically and so quickly, each sunset becomes its own inspiration. the colours change like the stroke of an artist's brush painting the immense sky. i am in oar knowing that if i don't capture it this instant, there will never be another opportunity. each is unique there will never be another one the same.

Editing

No

In my camera bag

just my camera and a telephoto lens.

Feedback

A lot of people make a big deal out of fiddling with everything they can to get " the shot." Often you don't have that long, often it's a split second point, compose, and shoot, otherwise the moment or light has changed or gone. So trust your camera to get it right for you. I leave my Nikon D700 and Nikon coolpix p600 permanently on auto. Today's cameras can do it all for you so why not use the short time you have to focus on the subject you're shooting. i very rarely have to photoshop any thing. if i want an effect like motion blur or something i adjust but 95% of the time i point and shoot, and the image is used just as i shot it.
