Behind The Lens

Location

While on holiday in Kenya I went on safari in the Tsavo National Park where I got the amazing opportunity to see these elephants

Time

2pm in the afternoon

Lighting

Working with the strong sun and playful elephants resulted in this amazing shot showing some great detail and shadows

Equipment

I used my Sony DSLR-A100 with my minolta AF Zoom 75-300 lens. There was no opportunity for a tripod on this trip.

Inspiration

Its not everyday that you get to be on safari in Kenya and seeing all the amazing animals and stunning scenery so when I seen these two young elephants playing I knew I had to get the shot

Editing

This photo was taken as a JPG file so I didn't have to do any post processing like with a raw file

In my camera bag

I bought my Sony DSLR-A100 for my holiday in Kenya so it was exciting to have a brand new camera and see what great shots I could get. Also in my bag is my Minolta AF Zoom 75-300 lens which is my favourite and also my Minolta 28-80 lens.

Feedback

Just have fun trying out new things with any new or current camera as you will be surprised what you can capture. I am known for being quite snap happy which worked well for taking photos of animals which were quite unpredictable so not wanting to miss a great moment I would take as many shots as possible.
