I love the drama of the black background and shadows in Alan Shapiro's images. I watched his video and then looked up Glyn Dewis and watched his video too. They inspired me to give it a try. I don't have an off camera flash so I used a lamp with a daylight bulb and draped it with towels to shape the light. I used a charcoal colored fleece blanket for the background. And my sweet model is Zenny my Belgian Sheepdog. I had a lot of fun playing around with this and I'm pretty happy with the results!

Black on Black is soo difficult to do and you hit it out of the ball park! I'm jealous lol. I have a black dog and I hope someday I can capture such a great as you did. What a great smile. I love to see the dogs enjoy their modeling career also:) Such beauty! I just wanted to thank you for joining my Challenge, Studio Pet Photography a this photo was at the top of my list!
