Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in a empty living room!! I hung up black fabric and then used lots of colored Christmas lights!! I sat the subject away from the back ground and got this perfect shot!!!

Time

I believe I took the picture in the afternoon!!

Lighting

I did not use anything fancy. I used 5 strings of colored lights and removed the shade of a lamp and used that in front.

Equipment

I have a Nikon d3100. My lense was a 55-200 mm.

Inspiration

I had been looking for an idea for a christmas portrait. I saw some pictures like this with white lights and a white background. We had lots of colored lights so I decided to give it a try.

Editing

I did crop it just a little. But other than that nothing else was done.

In my camera bag

I don't have any special equipment. Just what came with my camera. I have two lenses, 18-55mm and 55-200mm.

Feedback

I took a lot of pics to get this shot. I had a helper (grandma) help with my daughter. I sat her about 10 feet away from the backdrop. Just have fun!! I am a complete amateur but love taking pictures.
