After a couple of hours of shooting, he was 'getting' what I was trying to capture. All his portraits were very serious, so I wanted to lighten things up and get him to smile. No way, tough guys don't smile for portraits. So I told him that giving a smile would not make his face fall off, I assured him. Then I jokingly told him that in case I was wrong and it did fall off, my Labrador retriever would be right there to eat it, so it wouldn't go to waste. He started to laugh, click.
