I took this photo in my home.Time
It was around 12pm.Lighting
I stood infront of a window with open blinds that made it possible for me to control how much natural light I was using to get the shadows in the correct spot as well as light up the rest of my face.Equipment
I actually just used a nikon coolpix L110 (not a proper photography camera, but it's all I have for now - it'll do!) , no flash was used. I did however use a short tripod that I placed on the table infront of the window.Inspiration
I wanted to take a photo of myself that was different from the average 'selfie'. No pouting, no smiles, no tongues being stuck out. Just plain beauty. A photo that makes you think "I wonder what the person in this picture is thinking about?"Editing
Yes, I used an effect in Windows Live Photo Gallery called 'cyan tone' and I cropped the photo for simplicity and focusing specifically on the face.In my camera bag
I usually carry a few memory cards with me as well as some batteries. Also, my tripod goes with me absolutely everywhere!Feedback
As you know, it takes a lot of shots to get the perfect shot. Be patient, have fun! Try out different poses, try capture a side of you / someone else that one doesn't usually see!
