Sometime get negative feedback on this kind of photos such as the photo shot by dead body of wasp or the wing is cut and the water droplet is added by photoshop.

Even if that were true and the water droplet was added via photoshop, It wouldn't matter! It's still a stunning image, great job! :)

Behind The Lens

Location

Accidently found this phenomenon at tree in the garden, the wasp might suck the water from it's nest when in wet condition and will blow it as water droplet form from it's mouth.

Time

Most of the shooting time after raining day especially sunrise or sunset period.

Lighting

In response to get the more in focus area of subject, small aperture is set for photo shooting. Thus, external flash with custom made diffuser is needed.

Equipment

Camera : Canon EOS 60D Lens : (Canon EF 100mm F2.8 Macro + Raynox DCR250) or (Tamron SP90mm+Raynox DCR250) or (Tamron AF60mm+Raynox DCR250) Flash : Canon 580EXii + Custom Made Diffuser Others : Hand held without using tripod

Inspiration

Rare phenomenon situation shoot by photographer. Sometimes waited for 2 hours for wasps blowing water droplet but nothing happen. Furthermore, due to the wasps always moving and so difficult to get good position of the wasp and in focus photos.Approximately 5% of the my photos shot is satisfactory and can be selected for sharing.

Editing

Some adjustment on the contrast, lightness, sharpness and cropped by photoshop.

In my camera bag

Camera EOS 60D, Canon EF 100mm F2.8 macro, Canon EF50mm f1.8, Canon EFS 10-18, Tamron AF60mm, Raynox DCR 250, Canon 580 EXii, ND Fliters, CPL Filter.

Feedback

Tries and try for skills improvement. Skills is obtained from learning not buying. Not the best but always make it better.
