Behind The Lens

Location

Pendent Lighthouse in Cornwall, UK

Time

Approximately 2am BST

Lighting

The highlight on the left at the horizon is the moon about rise.

Equipment

Canon 5D mk2, Canon 16-35mm, intervalometer

Inspiration

I wa particularly inspired by the work of stephenippolito, a photographer who's work I have seen on here. I was also driven by a desire to capture Cornwall at night

Editing

This is a 12 image panorama. It was stitched together in PTgui and then post processed in Lightroom

In my camera bag

Canon 5D mk2, Canon 7D, Canon 16-35mm f2.8, Canon 70-200mm f2.8, Canon 50mm f1.4, Canon 28mm f1.8, x3 Canon 600ex-rt speedlites, intervalometer, Lee filters

Feedback

The hardest thing I found about a panorama this size is the composition. You really need to have a clear vision of what you are after. This is best realised by visiting in the day time and figuring out your composition then. Also do not look directly at the lighthouse! Ruins your night vision!
