Excuse me, all, praise from friends is fine and nice, but works in a wrong direction. You'll see what I mean if you analyse the Exif data to the right. First, there was insufficient light at an extreme focal length (well within digital zoom range, which is detrimental to quality). The camera has chosen relatively low ISO value for this kind of light, and exposed at 1/10th of a second. Stabilisation or not, the image came out unsharp, with strong blue line all along the bird's right side (aberation).
Now, this can be done better in several ways: First and most urgently, the digital zoom has to be switched off (or not entered at all) and only optical zoom range should be used. Secondly, it is quite okay to raise ISO to 200, even 400 - the images will not be too noisy, but the exposure time would be shorter, and thus sharper. And finally, bear in mind that long zoom isn't meant for extremely far away objects, but rather closer objects to be seen in more detail. Excuse my critique, folks, but I'm gonna offer such comments until the author tells me to stop. :)))
