Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my backyard. My cat likes to go outside, but jumps the fence and gets stuck in trees... So he must be supervised.

Time

I don't remember time of day, honestly I didn't know the shot would turn out this well until I was flipping through photos a few days later.

Lighting

The sun was in a position where it would blind my lense if I didn't angle myself correctly, and then I had to make sure there was enough light on Erwin.

Equipment

I just used the Sony a6000 and the kit lens, I had only had a few days with the camera before then, it is just an easy to use setup

Inspiration

I was inspired to take this photo by Erwin, the cry baby cat that gets stuck in trees.

Editing

I didn't do any post processing, at the time I was only using sony's software to convert from raw to JPEG. It wasn't until later I found the glory that is Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Equipment I usually have is my camera of course. Sony A6000, kit lens. Also the 4.5-6.3/55-210, it's good for candid shots of people or things who don't know you are watching them. A cleaning cloth, extra memory card, 2 extra batteries, and a lens adapter that allows me to steal my girlfriend's canon lenses and use them.

Feedback

If you are trying to capture those moments that only seem to happen when you aren't looking, you need to always be carrying your camera. I've taken shots of a couple while we were out camping, they had no idea, but when I sent it to them they were amazed, and didn't even remember me having a camera.
