Sea Urchin photographed at the jetties in Ponce Inlet, FL on May 24, 2015. Before this day, I had only seen these guys in aquariums; held one in a tidal pool exhibit at Fort Fisher Aquarium, NC when I was a child. I was excited at spotting the Sea Turtle and after the turtle swam away, I spotted this Sea Urchin...it was like a 2 for 1 treat of sea life that day! I liked the colors of the algae on the rock, along with the colors of the barnacles, so I tried to take a shot to give appreciation not only to the Sea Urchin, but also to its surroundings.
