Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken early morning 2014 entering Yellowstone National park from the west.

Time

The park opens very early and we were generally the first there. Heading into the rising sun the ground clouds(fog) were rolling off the hills and literally spilling onto the road. I hopped out of the car to take this picture. The sun appeared unusually large because of the water vapor corona that was created. It was one of my favorites.

Lighting

Heading into the rising sun, the ground clouds(fog) were rolling off the hills and literally spilling onto the road like balls of cotton candy! I hopped out of the car to take this picture. The sun appeared unusually large because of the water vapor corona that was created. It was one of my favorites.

Equipment

My DLSR was packed in the back as it was our last day and we were headed for some other location but I grabbed my Canon SX70 and took the shot.

Inspiration

It was mostly the clouds, but when I got back to do post processing the huge solar element stood out.

Editing

Just a little to fix color

In my camera bag

Canon then, now Sony A7 III

Feedback

You know, they always say early morning. It never disappoints.
