Behind The Lens

Location

At a friend's backyard, when he and his family weren't home.

Time

We got to the house around 8am and proceeded to shoot all over the back yard. It was around 9 when she happened to be walking by the french doors that i noticed her reflection.

Lighting

It was generally diffuse morning light, in a clearing within a forested area.

Equipment

I'm using a handheld Fujicam X-E2, with my trusty 18-135 zoom. We're outside and walking around.

Inspiration

I wondered if i could shoot some beautiful nudes with making them gratuitously sexual or typical in style. This was maybe the fourth time I had worked with this model, and we were slowly trying different venues.

Editing

Using Lightroom, I took the image to black and white, and then brought down the highlights as much as i could, as the sun reflection was really blowing out the image, and a little distracting.

In my camera bag

I never carry a dedicated bag. I travel as light as is feasible. Extra charged batteries and memory cards. A lens cleaning cloth, sometimes.

Feedback

lways be looking, beginner's mind.
