Behind The Lens

Location

This was at one of my first photoshoots, but I love to end my pet photoshoots with a variation of this picture. I feel it really captures the bond between owner and dog.

Time

This was taken in the morning around 10am.

Lighting

I always use natural lighting for my hand holding paw photos.

Equipment

I

Inspiration

I believe that the bond between owner and dog is so special and deep. This really captures that in a simple but powerful way. As I say, "when I needed a hand, I found your paw."

Editing

There is not much post processing in this image aside from lighting. This is a simple photo to express love and friendship and I do not want to over complicate it

In my camera bag

I always have my canon 5d mark III. My most go to lens is my canon 70-300.

Feedback

The actual capturing of this photo is never as glamour as the final product. I try to get the dog and the owner as far apart as possible so I only capture hand and paw. If the dog cooperates it is a very simple capture. I try to get a bit of distance and use an f-stop around 5.6 or lower so the background is blurred and does not distract from the focus.
