Behind The Lens
Location
This was actually just fabric hung over a door in my room. It was a bit hard to get everything to stay in place, but I managed by shutting the wire holding the lightbulb and the fabric in the door.Time
I believe this was getting close to night time.Lighting
I had trouble working lighting with this as the light set up in my room would cast a shadow from me and the camera onto everything.Equipment
I cannot remember what camera I used, as it was all pretty impromptu, but I did have it set up on a tripod.Inspiration
I've always found the way that dye moves through water to be incredibly interesting. That day, I'd seen something relating to a lightbulb somewhere, and the two things just collided in my mind. I winged it on the details and ended up with one broken lightbulb (which was promptly thrown out), one successfully hollowed out light bulb, some wire, water, and food coloring.Editing
I did a lot of editing in Photoshop to try to fix colors and lighting. Because of the location and lack of natural light the image was very yellowed. In my camera bag
Most of my photography is completely impromptu, so I don't often have very much on me. A lot of the pictures that I've taken have been on cameras borrowed from friends and family for "just one minute I swear".Feedback
The setup of this photo was more important than the actual photography. Just be open to any ideas that you might have and don't be afraid to try something different!
