Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken in my dining-room using natural light and a black material backdrop. and natural light from the window on my right. I opened the curtains only slightly to let a minimum of light through to get this lovely softness.

Time

I think it was about mid-morning.

Lighting

I used natural light coming in from a window to my right, opening the curtains only slightly to let a minimum of light through to get this lovely softness.

Equipment

I hand-held the original Sony Alpha SLR with an 18/70 lens.

Inspiration

Amy is my grand-daughter and my wife she had just combed her hair and applied a bit of make-up to her eyes, and I thought she looked great for a picture!

Editing

No.

In my camera bag

At that time I regularly used a Minolta Dynax 9 film camera with a range of lenses for wedding photography, along with the Sony Alpha, using the same lenses and flashes. I still have my trusty, and heavy, Manfrotto tripod, but have updated to an Alpha58 20 megapixel camera. Although my all-time favourite camera will always be my Dynax 9, I do not use film anymore.

Feedback

Use natural light and then, only a little.
