Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at UMBC during the summertime

Time

Out of all my photos, this is the first one that I discovered the path of color photography. Black and white is still my favorite and will continue to be. However, it was this photo that made me experiment and discover what I can do with photography and color. UMBC provides a good amount of natural colors, plants and wildlife. I found that between the hours of 10am to 11:30 am was the most effective for this photo.

Lighting

I wanted this image to look vivid and full of life. I go into every picture to make everything live and serve a purpose in my photos. This flower had such rich colors attached to it. I could not pass this opportunity up.

Equipment

I used my Nikon Coolpix S9600

Inspiration

I love nature shots. there is something about capturing the rich colors that the earth provides for its plants that breathes life through a lense.

Editing

I corrected the focus and added some contrast and brightness to bring out the rich colors.

In my camera bag

I travel light. I have no need for a zoom lens as my camera comes with one built in. and I have a spare samsung which post amazing photos as well.

Feedback

Flowers provide a good amount of vibrant colors that makes a photo stand out. Be sure to get lighting that brings that flower out. The colors will respond to whatever setting you're in.
