Location
This photo was taken in the residential neighborhood where I lived in Trenton, Missouri.Time
It was late afternoon, almost evening, when I spotted this sweet pair.Lighting
The sun was close to setting but still offered plenty of light to get a good shot.Equipment
I had borrowed a Nikon D camera from a friend to experiment and decide if I might want to buy the camera. There was no need to use a flash as there was still enough light for a good shot.Inspiration
Having heard the owls calling to each other in the evening and into the night, I had begun scouring the neighborhood to see if I could spot them. I happened on the nest tree when I discovered "owl pellets" in the street. As the day began to fade the into evening the mother Owl emerged and was soon followed by an owlet. Together they sat on the edge of the nest cavity coaxing another owlet to come up and join them. They happened to look up at the same time and I took the picture.Editing
Being a beginning photographer I just took the picture and ran with it.In my camera bag
Just starting into photography I used no extra equipment as I had no idea what to use.Feedback
I have found the best way to get a picture is to be observant, patient, and always ready for anything.
