Behind The Lens

Location

I spent a few weeks in Cuba. This picture was taken in the capital city, Havana.

Time

Late one afternoon after spending the day in Oldtown Havana I came across this sidewalk. My personal favourite of many similar structures in the city.

Lighting

Waiting a few minutes for the sun to appear from behind a cloud, I was able to achieve the desired shadow effect.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D7100. My first D-SLR that I acquired a few months previous. 18-55 mm lens.

Inspiration

As soon as I saw this place I knew I had to capture it.

Editing

I made minor adjustments and opted for black and white.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7100 / 18-55 mm lens / 55-300 mm lens / circular polarizing filters / neutral density filters / tripod / cleaning kit

Feedback

In my opinion the shadows really add to the photo. Wait for that light!
