Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was captured on South Stradbroke Island, on the edge of a small boutique resort that I was working at..

Time

Late in the afternoon, I was admiring all the wallabies hopping around as the sun was setting just enjoying the serenity..

Lighting

I guess the thing that drew me to the shot, was the fact that the light was coming from behind the scene as the sun was setting casting a dark shadow on the thatched hut and surrounding palm trees...

Equipment

Just one of my old camera's (kodak z650) nothing special, no tripod, special lens, just the natural raw shot. f/3.2, exposure 1/80 sec, ISO-160, Max aperture 3.4, focal length 11mm.

Inspiration

I guess just the time of the day, you know when you get that feel good vibration from watching a sunrise or sunset that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. I wanted to capture that moment so I would have it forever..

Editing

Just some simple editing to make the shot really pop. I slightly enhanced the colour in the background & darkened the colour in the foreground...

In my camera bag

At the time, nothing special just one of my earlier first digital cameras, which I liked to keep handy for those very occasions..

Feedback

I guess, just being more aware of the conditions that make a good shot, and being ready to take it..
