Location
This photo was taken on the outskirts of the beautiful, yet charming location of Coburg, Oregon. The location was on a piece of farmland that opened up perfectly to the gorgeous sun.Time
This photo was taken at "golden hour" approximately and hour before sundown.Lighting
The lighting was extraordinary, as it always is at this specific location. Open fields, open sky. Ahhh so breathtaking.Equipment
For this shoot, I used my 5D Mark III camera and 100mm Macro at 2.8 for this shot.Inspiration
Ill tell you. This moment was at the end of a very short, but fulfilling photo shoot. We were ALL done by this point. The shoot didn't start off right. We caged 2 lambs on location with us. This particular location had been about a 15min drive. That drive was the longest 15mins, I think all of us in that SUV had endured. Sweet baby lambs crying out for their momma, sweet little Emmie (little girl) crying because of the lambs crying......once we were to our location, the scene was set, the animals were mock 5 thru the fields trying to escape. As we were chasing these animals, we had 2 planes flying over us (owners of the land) wondering what was going on (as there were no trespassing signs anywhere) so by the end of the shoot......this happened. I was inspired by the light, the beauty, the quietness of the land, but the cries of sweet little Emmie wanting to go home. At this very moment, life was happening. Sometimes capturing the true essence of a moment stamps a forever memory in our hearts.Editing
In post, I warmed up the photo and darkened it a bit. I also dropped in some color to the sky using a gradient with a low opacity so I could still keep the natural clouds showing thru. I had found a rainbow brush online that I thought would be neat to use as well.In my camera bag
In my bag.....I carry around nothing too spectacular. My Mark III (my baby) and my lenses are: 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8, 100macro 2.8L, 35mm sigma art 1.4, and an 11-16 Tokina 2.8 that I have used 1 time. ha! If you can't already tell....Im a prime girl. :)Feedback
I would say.....Don't let that light fear you! For so long, I found myself running from the light. Always shooting in the more "safe" locations (the shade). Until recently, I discovered the sun, which used to be my biggest fear. When I found the sun, I found myself, and found a whole different door to my photography. So, use it to your advantage!
