This was taken in a modern art museum, the overcoat hanging on the wall was part of the exhibition. I liked the multitude of rectangles, lines and sharp edges in this scene, leading to or framing the subject; there weren't many colours to begin with, so I thought it would be suitable for black and white. I like that the overcoat is there to give some personality to the white rectangle, but I am a bit worried that the woman is too close to it and so they compete for the viewer's attention.
