Took this image of my niece at the Big Hole in Kimberly South Africa. There wasn't actually a window, it was very dark inside the room, and i used small flash to simulate the look of natural window light.

Location
I took this photo in Kimberly, South Africa, at the "Big Hole", its history is famous and rich for diamonds in South Africa.Time
I took this shot at about 4pm in the day.Lighting
We went inside one of the little historic houses and saw this old lounge chaise on the side. The room was very dark, but i knew i wanted to make the shot look like mid afternoon window light. There was no window available, so i made a creative plan, and used my flash off camera to simulate the appearance of window light.Equipment
Nikon D4, SB900 Nikon Flash, Nikkor 50mmInspiration
The rich history of Kimberly. I knew i wanted to capture the essence of time. I knew my model and the styling would fit in well with the surroundings.Editing
Yes. I used Adobe Photoshop. I just warmed up the image to simulate the afternoon warm light. I used a "Hue and Saturation" adjustment layer where i used the sliders to warm up the image. In my camera bag

Be in tune with your creative side, look what's in front of you, and see what you can do to make it creative and interesting. Colour, texture, contrast and mood is everything to me as a Photographer.
