This photo was taken at a bird sanctuary in Montagu, South Africa. I was on an outing with some friends and we happened to find ourselves at the bird sanctuary, There are lots of other birds there and this photo was among many I took that day.Time
This photo was taken in the mid afternoon. We enjoy excellent weather here at the southern part of Africa and the light is amazing most days.Lighting

I always try to take my photo equipment whenever I am out and about. This bird sanctuary presented many opportunities to take photos and I spent nearly 2 hours here taking various photos.Editing

Taking photos of birds in their natural habitat can be a challenge. Be patient and prepared to take lots of photos and always try to keep the sunlight behind you to avoid shadows on your subject.
