Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Corrinna on the west coast of Tasmania. We sailed down the Pieman River of the vessel featured out to the coast. There had been a massive storm sometime previously and the coast was littered with a significant number if huon pine logs which could only be retrieved under licence. It would be worth doing an online seach to learn about the Huon Pine. It is a most unique timber. Better still visit Tasmania and while there check out The Wall at Derwent Bridge. The boat itself also has an interesting history..

Time

Fairly early in the morning. We had travelled from Waratah up and down intervening mountains in and out of cloud.

Lighting

Mother nature provided

Equipment

Sony a55 hand held.

Inspiration

The photo will answer that. It was irresistible

Editing

Yes. I mostly lifted the shadows.

In my camera bag

My camera now a Sony a7 and loving it and 2 e-mount lenses. And an adapter for various other a-mount lenses. E-mount is 24 to 240mm and a f2/28mm mainly for liw light photography as I do not have a flash. A-mount lenses include a Tamron 90mm, a 300mm and a wide angle as yet not utilised with the a7. Apart from that a tripod, and a remote.Check out the light. Keep the camera steady. These days I might use a tripod a remote and set the camera to manual mode and manual focus.
