Behind The Lens

Location

The image was taken near Swellendam, South Africa, in an agricultural region known as the Overberg..literally translated meaning "over the mountain".

Time

It was an overcast day near the end of winter, around noon.

Lighting

The overcast clouds allowed for sufficient light and also a clear mountain range. We have a high humidity in the region on hot days that results in a haze covering the mountains.

Equipment

Nikon D7000 camera, Sigma f/2.8 24-70mm IF EX DG HSM lens and manfrotto tripod.

Inspiration

I love doing landscapes, the wheat, barley, oats and canola together with the hills and mountain range creates lots of oppurtunities for landscape photopgraphy

Editing

Image was shot in RAW, limited post-processing was done in Lightroom 5.7.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7000, Nikon D5100, Sigma f/2.8 24-70mm IF EX DG HSM lens, Sigma f/4.5 120-400mm IS DG HSm lens, Nikon f3.5 18-55mm lens, 10-Stop Variable ND Filter.

Feedback

A windless day is best for detail, however slight breeze movement also creates great images.
