Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this underwater photo in a cenote in Mexico (Cenotes are freshwater cave lakes in the Yucatan peninsula)

Time

We did the session in the morning but as w was in a cave, i used only artificial light (2 flashlights)

Lighting

I used one flashlight on the background hidden by the groom and another outside illuminating the set

Equipment

Nikon D800 in a Aquatica Housing. Nikkor 17-35mm F2.8

Inspiration

I use to shoot this picture just withe the bride and the groom. But that day, they told me that their 8 month baby was as well a diver!

Editing

I always work raw and then make over the photos. specially due to color changes underwater (blue/green dominance)

In my camera bag

Nikon D800 14-24mm F2.8 70-200mm F2.8 16mm F2.8 fisheye

Feedback

A great light is important. I have been working for long to find the right position of the flashlight to get the best effect. It is important to make some try before any important shooting.
