Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken while my husband, brother in law and I were visiting their old family home that had not been lived in for many, many years. My brother in law sat down for a moment on the porch and I suddenly felt it would be a great moment to capture.Time
It was in the early afternoon.Lighting
I just used the natural lighting of the day, nothing extra.Equipment
I have a Nikon d750 and I believe I used a Nikon prime lens for this shot.Inspiration
Just the fact that we were out looking at the family's old homeplace and land and thinking about how life changes rather quickly in some ways and then rather slowly in others. Without any prompting, it just happened and seemed to be the perfect picture to capture to express a family's "past and present."Editing
I did a little bit of enhancing of the colors in Lightroom, but not much. I didn't want to take away from the simplicity of the picture. In my camera bag
I have my Nikon d750, along with a few lenses. Nikon primes 85 2.8 and 105 2.8, I love both of these lenses. They both have such a range of capabilities and render lovely shots.Feedback
Have your equipment with you and ready even when you are not expecting a shot to become available. Because sometimes it just happens even when you haven't planned for it to happen.
