Behind The Lens

Location

Stanley Park, Vancouver BC, Canada at The Nine O'clock Gun

Time

Somewhere between 830pm and 855 pm it was a test shot before the firing of the The Nine O'clock Gun!

Lighting

Time exposure nothing else!

Equipment

Nikon D200, 20mm lens, cable release and a tripod.

Inspiration

We were at the Nine O'clock Gun to take photos of the cannon shot that happens each night at 9pm. I thought I would get a shot of the calm before the nightly Bang! The Nine O'clock Gun used to signify the end of the fishing day in Vancouver, Now it is a tourist attraction, on another occasion when we were there to get photographs the cannon did not go off even though it was primed to do so!

Editing

None

In my camera bag

When this was taken a Nikon D200, some lenses and spare batteries.

Feedback

Shoot at sub 200 ISO, take a tripod, cable release and try different exposure times.
