Location
This photo was taken in Exilles, a small town in a mountain valley in the Nortwestern part of Italy. The town center was full of this kind of small passages with stairs.Time
It was summer, around 3 pm. I was fascinated by the incident light on the different stones in the area with a strong natural contrast.Lighting
Sunlight was really strong, but to catch the shape of the stairs I had to put me completely on the floor in order to emphasize the reflexes on the footsteps.Equipment
It was taken with a Nikon D3200 with the 18-55 mm kit lens. It was my first camera and I was learning all the features.Inspiration
Light and stairs gave me the idea of unknown with the fascination of walking. I was repeating to myself: Try to see things from a different perspective"Editing
I was learning everything at the time about photography, and I was not able to do a lot of post processing. I desaturated the image and I enhanced contrast. That was all!In my camera bag
I cannot leave at home my Nikon 17-55 mm f/2.8, CP-L filter and Nikon 70-300 mm f 4.5-5.6 VR. That's pretty everything I need for 95% of my shots.Feedback
In small town on the mountains in Italy there are a lot of similar places in order to recreate the shot. Just don't hesitate to crouch and find a different perspective. Don't care about mud, dust. Experiment!
