It was mid day, but birds were standing under tree shade.Lighting
As these flamingos are bright colored, I was thinking of filtered light to get proper exposure on bright sunny afternoon. After couple of hours waiting the angle of sun light was changed and I could able to spot a flamingo playing in water under tree shade. That was the moment, I used dark green pond water as a background to compose this shot and a 1/3rd stop underexpose to retain the details of feather.Equipment
It was very basic set up of Canon rebel T5i camera attached with 18-135 f3.5-5.6 lens. I used the natural light and surrounding environment to compose my shot in busy zoo.Inspiration
As a nature photographer I always interested to shoot birds, the brilliant colors and those feather details were very interesting.Editing
For most of the birds and animal photographs, I feel we don`t need much post processing, as they naturally look brilliant. Nevertheless, I do prefer to go for basic editing and cropping if it requires.In my camera bag
Right now I have canon 7D mark II camera always attached with sigma 18-35 lens. Along with I always carry my canon 15-85, canon 100 mm L macro and canon 400L. Depending on the location and subject I also carry my lensbaby kit and 8mm fish eye.Feedback
Look for proper lightning, soft light or filtered light is awesome. Use rules of composition, choose right background, try to use contrasting background to the subject so that, it stand out well. Use your legs to move around for better angle, in addition, wait for the moment, capturing birds in action can add another dimension to the picture.
