One of the neatest experiences of my family's "Olympic Trip" in 2012 was how close the deer would approach visitors at Hurricane Ridge. Sometimes it seemed that you could walk right up to these gentle creatures and pet them. While not entirely unwary of humans, they definitely weren't as easily frightened off as other deer I know. A beautiful afternoon spent making some new friends.
