This would be a wonderful photo to add to the ViewBug Project "Lichens and Mosses"

Location
This photo was taken in the river near my house. The Weir is the original water source for our city of Goulburn. I had come down hoping there would be some water flowing over the weir but was rewarded with the glistening wall and luscious green life.Time
I had taken the time to get down to the river around dusk so I could get the opportunity to use a slow shutter time. This was taken just after the sun had passed the horizon.Lighting
The image was all about natural light. The sky was still lit from the afterglow of sunset and slow shutter speed worked like a treat.Equipment
I used the Canon 5d MkII with a 17-40mmF4L lens stabilised with a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I have always been inspired by waterfall photos with the silky water. That was what I was hoping for but disappointed with the lack of water. However the awesome stillness in the pools below the weir provided a great setting to work with.Editing
The image was processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. I worked with the lighting and contrast in Lightroom and my wife polished it up in Photoshop for me.In my camera bag
Normally I have the 5DmkII with me and the 24-105mmF4L on the camera. The17-40mm is in the bag ready for landscapes and a 70-200mF4L for a bit of reach.Feedback
Patience is the key for these shots. The light has to be right and you can rush the shot and miss the best image. Don't forget the tripod as these images don't look great blurry.
