Behind The Lens

Location

My home sweet home of Alabama.

Time

Nice mid-morning shot.

Lighting

Natural lighting, no flash.

Equipment

Picture was taken with a Canon EOS 7D 18 MP digital SLR Camera and 18-135mm lens

Inspiration

I love the color and love being able to just see it's potential of a beautiful art.

Editing

Not too much editing was evolved on this particular shot. I did black out the surrounding background by color choosing what I wanted enhanced. I also went in adding a little more contrast, saturation, and a bit of clarity to really make this focal point pop.

In my camera bag

My camera of course!! Along with my 18-135mm lens and 18-55mm lens. They are not everyone's choice but for the range of things I particularly like to shoot they work wonderfully. I always make sure to have extra batteries on go for my camera and my Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT Flash. This flash is absolutely one of my favorites, perfect for a beginner such as myself. It bounces light well and helps in creating the mood I am looking for.

Feedback

Something such as this particular shot needs to be a color that can really just be intensified in itself without actually changing its original hue. I do like to play around with some color change but it is nice to see nature in its original hue and beauty. I would not recommend using a flash on something such as this there are many things you can go in and touch up with out it being so bright in the photo from a direct flash. I am a beginner and I feel like the best way to achieve a look like this is to really just experiment with the editing program you have, I feel there is no right or wrong way to educate yourself whether it be step by step from a tutorial or just giving it a go and learning your program by playing with all that you can achieve with the click of a button.
