Location
This was taken on the Mount Washington Cog Railway in New Hampshire a couple of years ago now. We were actually heading back down the mountain and I loved the way the tracks disappeared off into the mountain mist.Time
You know, I really don't remember. I suspect it was late afternoon but it had been a cold, misty day so the light had stayed pretty constant the whole day. We'd actually headed up the mountain for the views but, typically, the day we chose, there was zero visibility. The day before and after was clear blue skies!!Lighting
We were really lucky it was a misty day which created this lovely light and mood.Equipment
This image was shot on a Canon 5D Mark 3 with 24-70mm lens.Inspiration
I just loved the way the lines converged right here, with the water tank sitting there and the lines disappearing into the mist further up the mountain.Editing
Sure! I edit all my images in Lightroom. For this one, I changed it to black and white, adjusted the exposure slightly and straightened it up (I always shoot crooked!).In my camera bag
Now, I always carry my 5D3 - my go to lens is my 35mm f/1.4 but I also carry a 50mm f/1.4 and an 85mm f/1.8. I also carry a prism and an old sx-70 polaroid camera.Feedback
Be ready! Keep constantly looking at the changing scenery and landscape and be ready to capture it at a moment's notice.
