I took this photo in Italy in a region called "le Crete"

Time

Just before sunset the sky turned al colorful

Lighting

In this case it's just a matter of waiting it out for the right moment. In the end you only have a brief window of a few minutes.

Equipment

Shot with a Nikon D800 on a tripod with a Nikkor 24-70 2.8 and a 3 stops neutral graduated filter.

Inspiration

I wanted the light coming over the hills and a dramatic sky.

Editing

Post-processing was mainly done in Lightoom 5 with some extra work in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

A Nikon D800 camera body and Nikkor 24-70 2.8 , Nikkor 70-200 2.8 VR, Nikkor 50 1.8G, Nikkor 85 1.8G and some flashes for doing portrait work.

Feedback

Get there early to find your composition and be patient and wait it out. If you don't capture it today then come back tomorrow. different weather conditions make for different photos. All and all you just have to be lucky to be in the right place at the right time, but you can sometimes make your own luck!
