Behind The Lens

Location

The image was captured at the "Northwest200" one of the largest and most famous road racing events held annually here in Northern Ireland. Racing motorcycles reaching speeds of over 200 mph racing on "Normal" roads that any other day you or I would be driving on. And close enough that you could reach out and touch them.

Time

Tues 2013 during the days practice, where riders get to know the course and set up their bikes up for the racing ahead this could well have been in the afternoon at some point

Lighting

No extra lighting just sunlight and a fast shutter speed,

Equipment

This if i remember correctly was my old Fujifilm bridge camera hand held. More luck than judgment if im truthful....lol

Inspiration

I have been following the racing here at Portrush for years and every year i learn something new. I had wanted to capture this point for ages and that year the opotunity came up to locate myself in that spot. hasnt happened since because that spot is now restricted so guess i will have been one of the last togs to capture an image from that spot.

Editing

may have simply cropped the image not a lot more.

In my camera bag

not that much as i have to carry it on my motorbike

Feedback

get to speaking with the race marshalls in the end they are the guys who will let you get that bit closer if they can. and if they say No respect it.
