Unprecedented snow melt that year plus a freak winter storm created this scene in May! Freezing freak snow conditions during Spring in Yosemite and a last opportunity in bleak conditions to shoot this scene. Waiting for hours in the poor vis and snowing non stop it seemed there was no hope in the time available. Then a brief and welcome respite allowed the fog to clear enough to get a few frames before the weather closed in again.
