This photo was taken at my home after Everest had tried to hide.Time
I believe this was taken midday because as a puppy she would always try find a quiet place away from the family to take a puppy nap.Lighting
When i first found her there was almost no light in the room. I had to open both sets of blinds to light could flood in. I am pretty sure that is what actually woke her from her nap and got her to look at me.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D-5200 that had a Tamron 18 - 200mm lens.Inspiration
Everest is my first puppy and the love of my life, but anyone who has ever had a puppy knows that when the house goes silent they are up to something. I figured I would find her eating the turtle food (again) or rolling around in the mud like she isn't a white dog. Instead I found the most precious puppy sleeping behind my great grandmothers sewing machine. It was the only thing my Great Grandma brought with her across the plains that has lasted and now lives in my house. I knew that my mom would love the photo so I really took it for her. It is now framed sitting on top of the sewing machine.Editing
I did do a little bit of contrasting so that the white of the baseboard looked a little bit more cream then Everest. It looks that way in real life but the light flooding just faded everything. In my camera bag
I carry the same lens and the same body that I took this photo with. It is my Nikon D 5200 body and Tamron lens. I also always carry extra memory cards just in case I find the perfect spot hiking or Everest is looking great in a particular light.Feedback
Always carry a camera. I wouldn't have been able to get the photo so quickly or even at all if I didn't have it with me.
