When in Arizona I stay near the Superstition Mountains and walk with my dog Bumper in the desert. This day was in the upper 90 degree range and Bumper was so happy to find a huge puddle left from a monsoon rain. Early settlers named the Superstitions on account of the many stories told by the local Pima-Apache Indians about the mountains, and tales such as the fabled Lost Dutchman gold mine. The Superstitions rise to an elevation over 5000 feet and are a popular area to hike. Don't forget to take water!
