This shot was taken at Broadbeach, QLD on Australia's gorgeous Gold Coast. Taken on 8th April 2015. I am very new to digital photography, I had only purchased the camera, a nikon D5500 5 days prior to this shot.Time
I had set the alarm for an early start, and was at the beach by 0515. this shot was taken half an hour later at 0545.Lighting
I was extremely lucky that mother nature decided to put on a magnificent sunrise that morning, and the rays landed perfectly on the timber steps from the deck down to the beach.Equipment

Set the alarm early ( I never was a morning person until I started catching sunrises). Look at everything as a picture, and take heaps of shots. Patience is the key when dealing with mother nature.
