Behind The Lens

Location

The Photo Was taken at my Sister's place in Moncton, NB. Canada.... before her delivery... my sister is in the photo.

Time

Afternoon, can't remember exactly at what time, but as you can see from the window, it was a snowy day.

Lighting

I wanted my photo to express one thing.. the new light coming (I'm sure that every mother and every couple would be looking forward to the day of delivery as a new beginning a new light to their family) I placed my flash (Nikon SB-900) inside the cradle of the coming baby, and managed the exposure to match the outside of the window.. asked my sister to stand in front of the window to take her silhouette holding her belly (the new light) and took the photo..

Equipment

Camera: Nikon D300s Lens: 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Flash: Nikon SB-900

Inspiration

expecting to see my 1st Nephew, I wanted to show all the love I was holding, and in the same time, the love of his parents... the baby... is a new light to all of us.

Editing

the only post-processing was placing my credits on the bottom right corner

In my camera bag

my bag has room to my Camera with it's lens (18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR) and Grip mounted, my flash. a softbox, my Telephoto lens (AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED) Extra Batteries to my flash and camera, cleaning kit, Business cards.

Feedback

Always keep an eye to the surrounding you are shooting in, indoors, outdoors, and take all the time you need... and always try to learn, there are always new things and techniques that you can learn... Youtube Channels really help....
