This Historic Crystal River Mill is located near Marble, Colorado. This photo was taken in May during the winter water run off in the mountains of Colorado. I absolutely love going there. When I print this photo it looks so much like a painting. I can assure you it isn't a painting.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is the Historical Crystal River Mill located near Marble, Colorado.

Time

9:30 am

Lighting

The sun was hiding behind the trees giving the morning glow.

Equipment

Iat the time if this photo I was using Canon EOS Mark II with a Canon EF 24-105 mm

Inspiration

I absolutely love this area within the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The building has so much history of this area.

Editing

I used Lightroom 6 to edit and process bribging out the details of this beautiful Historical building.

In my camera bag

I use a Gitzo Mountaineer 6x Tri-pod with an Acratech Ultimate Ball head. With a Wimberly P5 Universal quick release plate. My camera is the new Canon EOS ,50 MP 5DsR. In my bag of gear I have a Canon EF 100-400 mm 4.5 -5.6 to capture distant buildings, objects or wildlife. I also have the Canon EF 24-105mm wide angle lens that is capable to doing macros as well as Landscapes of best by sceneries. A Canon remote fir more control to prevent camera shake. I use a lens protection filter by Hoya with UV protection for all my lenses along with lens hoods to prevent rain drops, sun rays to ruin my photos from coming in on the sides.

Feedback

As you see the sun peaks through the trees you can capture the details of the trees. But staying away from the harsh sunlight of twelve o'clock noon. Mornings before 11am And after 2:00 pm is best suited for lighting unless you are trying to catch the evening colors of the Golden hour.
